Recently, the 7th "Superstar Cup" Teaching Contest for Young Teachers of Universities in Shandong came to an end. After fierce competition, teacher Shi Qian from the School of Marxism of our school won the first prize, and teacher Qu Wenxiao from the School of Economics and Management won the second prize, achieving a historic breakthrough in the award level and number of awards in the provincial youth education competition of our school, and outpaced other similar universities.
The competition lasted for nearly 10 months. A total of more than 4000 young teachers from 143 colleges and universities across the province participated in the preliminary round, semi-final round and final round. 623 contestants entered the preliminary round and 291 advanced to the final. The content of the competition is divided into teaching design, classroom teaching and teaching reflection, and is carried out by webcasting. In the end, 64 first prizes, 95 second prizes, 128 third prizes, and 336 outstanding prizes were announced.
The school party committee attached great importance to this competition and fully deployed. Participating teachers spent a lot of time and energy in preparing for the competition, overcoming various difficulties, and going all out. The Office of Academic Affairs has conducted in-depth research on the competition plan and scoring rules, using modern teaching resources such as smart classrooms, and has repeatedly invited outside experts in the same subject field as the contestants and the first prize winners of the provincial competition to conduct multiple rounds of actual combat drills, professional guidance, polishing courses, and doing a fine job of organizing, coordinating, communicating, and serving the competition throughout the entire process, which ensured that the good mental outlook and superb teaching skills of our young teachers are perfectly presented on the competition platform. The excellent results of our school's contestants this time fully demonstrated the solid basic teaching skills andfine teaching style of young teachers. The competition is not only a demonstration and test of the overall teaching level of our school, but also a good atmosphere for studying and devoting to teaching throughout the school.
In recent years, focusing on the evaluation of undergraduate teaching, SDAEU has attached great importance to the construction of the young teachers team, and has introduced a series of measures: implement a young teacher tutor system; formulate the "Implementation Plan for Improving the Teaching Ability of Young Teachers"; arrange young teachers to go deep into enterprises and industries to participate exercise; carry out domestic and foreign study visits, curriculum training, academic exchanges, continuing education, etc. through multiple channels and levels; set up training classes for young teachers' teaching ability improvement; innovate training methods, organize multiple teaching salons and teaching workshops; adhere to the promotion of teaching through competitions, organize school-level youth education competitions, moral education teaching competitions and other competitions every year, and build a "competition platform"; publish the "Teaching Project Reward Measures" to increase the awards of teaching competitions; revise relevant documents of appraisal and employment, and so on. A series of measures have further stimulated the enthusiasm of young teachers to devote themselvesinto teaching work, and effectively promoted the improvement of teaching ability and teaching level. It has laid a solid foundation for creating a team of high-quality, professional and innovative teachers with superb professional ability and superb education level, and successfully passing the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment.
