Recently, the 3rd National Rural Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Innovation Contest organized by the Ministry of Rural Agriculture has come to an end in Nanjing. Chi Xiaojun, a teacher at the School of Food Science and Engineering of SDAEU, successfully passed the provincial and national semifinals eventually participated in the national finals with the project “Integrated Development and Ecological Cycle of Dandelion in the Alpine Zone”, and won the prize of Excellence of the Ministry of Agriculture.
This is the first time that our teachers have participated in the finals of the Ministry of Agriculture and won the prize. At the same time, our school’s dandelion cultivation, processing new technologies and new products have received wide attention from the contest judges, peers and the media. The dandelion tea and dandelion wine developed by our teachers have also been well received by consumers at the fair.
In recent years, the school attaches great importance to the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements. Among them, new technologies and products of dandelion industry have been popularized and applied in Changqing, Jinxiang of Jining, Hulunbeier of Inner Mongolia and other regions.
The National Rural Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Innovation Contest is sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and organized by the Rural Industry Development Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Rural Social Development Center. Since the start of this competition in April this year, the agricultural and rural departments at all levels throughout the country have attached great importance to it. 29 provinces and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps have organized provincial-level trials, which has drawn widespread attention from all walks of life. From October 9th to 14th, the semi-final of the Contest was held in Changchun, Jilin. There were more than 1,900 entries in various places, involving more than 2,200 contestants. The finals were divided into the start-up and growth groups. A total of 60 projects were shortlisted for the National Finals.
