The Graduation Ceremony of the 2018 Sino-Australia Cooperation Program of Food Nutrition and Inspection was Grandly Held

On the morning of June 25th, the graduation ceremony of the 2018 Sino-Australia cooperation program of Food Nutrition and Inspection was grandly held in the lecture hall on the second floor of the training building of the North Campus. Ms. Phoebe Chen, Director of the Australian Association for Education and Training, Mr. Wayne Ketchen, Dean of the Constructing Futures College, TAFE Institute of Australia, Vice President Zhang ZhaoMing, and some directors of relevant schools attended the ceremony. Some teachers of the School of Food Science and Engineering, the 2015 and 2016 students from the Sino-Australia cooperation program of Food Nutrition and Inspection also participated in the ceremony. Tang Xin, Dean of the School of International Exchange and Cooperation, presided over the ceremony.

Ms. Phoebe Chen, Director of the Australian Association for Education and Training, and Mr. Wayne Ketchen, Dean of the TAFE Institute of Gordon, spoke firstly. Ms. Chen congratulated the students for their efforts to draw a successful conclusion to their university life, and hoped that the students will all go well in the future; Mr. Ketchen, first of all, expressed his great thanks for the efforts done by President Zhang, Ms. Phoebe Chen and Dean Yu KeXue, for the program, and also the care for the teachers of the Gordon TAFE Institute. He hoped that the students can apply what they have learned into practice and all have a bright future. Their speech, with witty and humorous, full of expectations, won the applause of the students.

Yu KeXue, Dean of the School of Food Science and Engineering, said that he was honored to witness the process of Sino-Australia cooperation program from scratch to excellence. The program can witness today's achievements in terms of curriculum matching, teaching effectiveness, social and industry recognition, which is inseparable from the support of the leaders of both sides, the cooperation of teachers and the efforts of students. Through the Australian courses, students could have the opportunity to understand and master the standards, the laws and regulations of food-related industries from an international perspective. Students are expected to contribute to the development of trade between China and Australia in the food sector after graduation. The student representative Li ShiChun expressed the deep gratitude to the Australian teachers. The difference between Chinese and Western education methods made them overcome difficulties and improve themselves in the challenge, and hoped the school can continue the friendly cooperation with Gordon TAFE Institute, and create more valuable life experiences for more students in the future.

Vice President Zhang ZhaoMing said that the Australian courses have benefit students greatly in improving their English ability, team spirit and awareness of purpose, which will be valuable in their future or their continuing studies. Vice President Zhang expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Phoebe CHEN for her contribution to the cooperation program and Mr. Wayne Ketchen's attendance at the ceremony. He also expressed his appreciation for the responsible, patient and meticulous teaching spirits of the Australian teachers, and congratulated the students who all have passed the assessments and graduated successfully, may their future more promising and brighter!

Lastly, Mr. Wayne Ketchen presented the TAFE Diploma of the Gordon Institute of TAFE to the students. The students, filled with a smile of youthful self-confidence, holding their certificates, took a photo with the Chinese and Australian teachers.
