On the afternoon of July 14, the session and farewell ceremony for the Shandong Subprogram of 2021 China's Far West Program was successfully held on Jinan campus. Zhang Wei, member of the School Party Committee and Vice President, heads of the Youth League Committee, Students Office, relevant colleges, and volunteer representatives of the Shandong Subprogram of 2021 China's Far West Program participated. The meeting was chaired by Han Juan, secretary of the Youth League Committee.
At the meeting, Han Juan, secretary of the Youth League Committee, introduced the implementation of our school's western plan. In 2021, our school was extensively mobilized and carefully organized. After inspection recommendations and strict selection, a total of 6 volunteers were successfully selected, including three volunteers from Sichuan, one from Ningxia, and two from Shandong.
The responsible members of the college where the volunteers are introduced their study, life and work during their stay at the school. Volunteers have expressed that they must live up to the expectations of school leaders and teachers, work hard and study hard in the service area, repay their alma mater with outstanding performance, and contribute youth to the development of the western region and the grassroots.
Zhang Wei congratulated the volunteers and affirmed everyone's determination and actions in choosing to the west and serving the grassroots. He pointed out that the western region is vast and there are unlimited opportunities at the grassroots level. Young students must thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the celebration of the centennial of the founding of the CPC. He encouraged students to keep in mind the original mission, study modestly with an open mind, be down-to-earth, be willing to contribute, and take the courage to take responsibility, seize the good opportunities given by the times, experience in the responsibility, grow up in the duty, and describe in the fertile soil of the west and the grassroots the appearance of the students of SDAEU, and write the responsibility of SDAEU.
After the meeting, the school leaders distributed bonuses and gifts to the volunteers, hoping that they could take the entrustment of their alma mater to the west, to the grassroots, to the place where the motherland and the people need it most to make contributions. The alma mater will always be the strongest support and warmest homeland for everyone.
