On December 30, the Central Rural Work Conference just concluded, and the 2020 Rural Revitalization Forum of Peking University was held in Beijing Friendship Hotel. Professor Liu Shouying, the honorary dean of Qilu Rural Revitalization Research Institute of our school, was invited to attend the meeting. Vice President Zhang Zhaoming, Qilu Rural Revitalization Research Institute, and relevant members of the Qilu Rural Revitalization Research Institute and School of Cadres Training attended the conference online in the Jinan campus.
The forumheld four roundtable discussionson the theme of "Rural Development and Transformation in the Post-Poverty Era", "Food Security and Agricultural Development under the "Double Cycle"", "Digital Technology and Agricultural and Rural Transformation" and "Green Development and Agricultural and Rural Economic Transformation" respectively throughonline and offline.
This forum was co-sponsored by Peking University NewRural Development Research Institute,China Center forAgricultural Policy,Peking University, and School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences of Peking University. It was hosted by Huang Jikun, Dean of Peking University New Rural Development Research Institute, and Zhang Pingwen, vice president of Peking University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xu Zhihong, former president of Peking University, honorary dean of School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences of Peking University, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and director of the Advisory Committee of Peking University New Rural Development Research Institute, respectively delivered opening speeches.
After the meeting, Zhang Zhaoming emphasized that this forum is an in-depth interpretation of the spirit of the Central Rural Work Conference,is a high-level academic exchange. The experts at the meeting are academic leaders and policy authorities in the field of rural revitalization at home and abroad. This whole day of reports, speeches and exchanges reflected their recent research results led by innovation with rich content, large amount of information, and blooming new ideas and concepts. He asked everyone to continue to study the spirit of the Central Rural Work Conference, work hard to digest and absorb the results of this forum, follow up and implement in their work, and promote our school's rural revitalization work to a higher level.
