On May 30th, the provincial final of the 2020 “SFLEP·Words Talent Cup” Shandong College English Vocabulary Contest was successfully completed. After the school-level preliminary and semi-final rounds of selection, 1,218 contestants from 65 colleges and universities in Shandong gathered in the cloud of the“Words Talent” platform to complete the final round of competition. After fierce competition in three rounds of school-level preliminary competition, school-level semi-finals, and provincial finals, Wang Zhiguo of the School of Economic Management won the third prize; Ou Ruixue from the School of Information Science and Engineering, Liu Fengjia from the School of Business, and Ren Jinshuang from the School of Land and Resources, Surveying and Mapping Engineering, and Sun Xihui from the School of Forestry Engineering won the Excellence Award. In the school-level semi-finals, 20 students from won the first prize in the semi-finals, 40 students won the second prize in the semi-finals, and 80 students won the third prize in the semi-finals.
“SFLEP·Words Talent Cup” College Students English Vocabulary Contest is a public welfare online vocabulary contest jointly sponsored by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press in order to better meet the needs of college English online teaching in cooperation with the CollegeForeign Language Teaching Steering Committee of Shandong Undergraduate Education. The competition relies on the WeChat official account of the “Words Talent English Vocabulary Smart Learning Platform” of theSFLEP, which is aimed at non-English majors in colleges and universities in Shandong. The content of the competition is based on the vocabulary of the CET-4 or CET-6. The competition is completed through online testing.
