Since the launch of the Thematic Education, Ding Xibin, the Secretary of the School Party Committee, has consciously played the role ofleader and has set an example by taking the lead in learning while studying and reforming, which has strongly promoted the development of the school's Thematic Education. From October 10th to October 22nd, Ding Xibin conducted deep investigation into student dormitories, contact classes, student canteens, classrooms, libraries, laboratories, department offices, secondary schools,veteran cadre activity centers, local government, andsuperior leading institutions, launched comprehensive investigations and researches on how to solve the problem of low pressure on some teachers in theschool, insufficient motivation for incentive and restraint mechanisms, and insufficient vitality of management and operation mechanisms, concentrated on finding shortcomings, investigating weaknesses, seeking practical advice, listening to opinions and suggestions in allsides, and studying measures to promote school Thematic Education and reform and development.
In the student dormitory of the North Campus, Ding Xibin checked the environment,hygiene, and safety of the student dormitory in detail, asked students about their study, living, and entertainment arrangements, and listened to their opinions and suggestions on improving service to students. When it was learned that the students were actively preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination, Ding Xibin proposed to the responsibledirectors of the relevant departments on the spot that they must actively create conditions under standardized management and safe and orderly conditions to provide afine condition for the students to study,and encouraged students to study hard while combining work and rest, arrange reasonable time for physical exercise and rest, and wished students agreat score. Seeing the students’ rich dormitory cultural construction, Ding Xibin praised the students for their versatility, but also reminded the students to show their personality, take care of each other’s preferences and space, and jointly build the dormitory into a harmonious and warm home.
In the library, Ding Xibin inspected the book facilities one by one, and asked in detail about the management of the library, the construction of book resources, the development of collection resources, and the use of space, and affirmed the orderly management of the library. The library is required to actively research, develop channels, and enrich the book resources from the perspective of the requirements for the construction of undergraduate teaching qualification assessment standards, andget ready for the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment.
At the laboratory management center, Ding Xibin asked in detail about the layout, connotation, characteristics, and safety management of the laboratory construction. On the spot,he checked the operation and maintenance management of the laboratory equipment and the construction of the emergency management mechanism, and listened to the opinions and suggestions of the responsible directors of the laboratory management center on the planning and layout of the laboratory construction and management of the daily operation of the laboratory. Ding Xibin emphasized that the construction of laboratory safety is related to the safety of teachers and students, which should be attached great importance to it, in strict accordance with the overall deployment of laboratory safety work by relevant national and provincial departments, implement special investigation and rectification requirements for hazardous waste, improve safety awareness, and resolutely prevent and curb laboratory accidents.
On the basis of fieldwork and investigation, Ding Xibin held a meeting of teacher representatives of various departments on the North Campus to listen totheir opinions and suggestions on the Thematic Education and school reform and development. Participants proposed to optimize the assessment mechanism, improve staffing, strengthen staff training, improve the teaching and working environment of teachers, and improve the conditions for students to study and test from the perspective of internal management, professional title evaluation, discipline construction, reward and punishment mechanism,two-level management, etc. Ding Xibin wrote down carefully and exchanged opinions and views with the participants on relevant issues. Ding emphasized that to strengthen moral education and cultivate people is the fundamental task of the school. All faculty and staff must establish the awareness that all the school work is centered on teaching, and that the teaching work is centered on students. The management, teaching auxiliary departments, and logistics service departments must effectively enhance service awareness and serve teachers and students with heart, dedication, and enthusiasm.
During the survey, Ding Xibin used the lunch break to hold a discussion with the student representatives of the North Campus to listen to their opinions on the reform and development of the school. The students put forward opinions and suggestions from animating campus culture, strengthening dormitory management, enhancing students civilization and literacy, strengthening exchanges and cooperation, and paying attention to employment and entrepreneurship. Students in the fourth grade also talked about their personal idea on employment.
During the survey, Ding Xibin actively talked the teachers of democratic parties and non-partisan, and introduced them to the school Party Committee's organization and development of the theme of“Remain true tothe original aspiration and keepthe mission firmly in mind”, and listened to their opinionsand suggestionson the work of the Party Committee and the school's reform and development work. Representative teachers of democratic parties and non-partisan speak freely, put forward many constructive opinions from the aspects of discipline construction, talent team construction, campus environment construction, etc, and said that they will actively play their role and contribute to the reform and development of the school.
On October 16th, Ding Xibin came to the first class of2017th Business English undergraduate of the Humanities School. After the brief introduction, he shared his personal learning experience with the students, and introduced the significance of leading cadres contacting with students, and encouraged them to work hard and learn well to prepare for the great cause of the new era. In the School of Humanities, Ding Xibin carefully listened to the speeches of the representative teachers, and discussed and exchanged with teachers in the aspects of Humanities professional construction, students humanities cultivation, and campus culture construction.
With the problems found in the investigation, Ding Xibin came to the Personnel Office to listen to the opinions and suggestions on cracking the“three forces” problem. Participants put forward improvement suggestions and ideas from the aspects of school incentive and restraint mechanism construction, performance salary reform, assessment and evaluation model reform, cadre team construction, and internal management. After hearing everyone's speech, Ding Xibin said that as an important functional department of the Party Committee, the Personnel Office has arduous tasks and heavy responsibilities, which is related to the implementation and realization of the decision-making and deployment of the Party Committee, and the actual interests of cadres and employees.He hoped that thestaff of the Personnel Office will firmly grasp their responsibilities and positions, perform their duties with due diligence, fully implement the work tasks arranged by the Party Committee, and effectively play the role of the Party Committee assistant.
